Mentoring advanced practice nurses will foster role transition, clinical competency, creativity, and innovative clinical practice. The NP mentor will provide a foundation for communication and ongoing support for newly hired NPs. Mentorships are characterized as mutual, reciprocal relationships that benefit all participants.
