I would recommend teachers starting this interdisciplinary project during the third or fourth week of schoo; after you have established class rules, reviewed word processing and creating PowerPoint presentations. This way, the students will have some background knowledge about creating PowerPoint presentations, note taking and summarizing details allowing them to complete the WebQuest with the teacher acting as a facilitator.
Objectives:
After completing the WebQuest students will be able to:
- Provide complete details regarding the meaning and history of their names.
- Compare the popularity of their name to their classmates' names.
- Trace the route their ancestors could have taken to arrive in the United States.
- Name famous celebrities sharing their birthday.
- Compare the top songs, movies, television shows, and toys the year they were born to the current year.
- Describe and rank the important events in history the year they were born.
- Compare the prices of items the year they were born to the current prices.
- Describe the political events the year they were born including: U.S. President and Vice President, Governor of Tennessee and Mayor of Memphis.

Prerequisite Skills: Comfort level with the Internet and Creating PowerPoint presentations
Time Required: 5 days for lessons and preparation ( one hour each) and 1 day for presentation day.
